The second anime that comes into mind after 'Death Note' in psychological world of anime is 'Monster'. This anime is not like any other anime you will ever watch, that slow pacing storyline that reveals everything bit by bit. The closer something gets to reality, the more bothersome and disturbing it becomes. Standing above most anime with a story that's so close to reality. Monster depicts the true nature and psyche of humanity and society with extreme relevance. Based on the values and dark truths of ourselves and our society, Monster roars out a howl that shows the mostly unexplored yet undeniable truth about us and our world.

3. Steins;Gate

Studio: White Fox

I still don't know why people don't rate Steins;Gate that much. People find the first eight episodes so dull that they drop the anime entirely, but if you stick to it after that, you will know how beautiful this anime is. The characters are wholesome, and the anime gets deep at times, definitely a true masterpiece.

Time travel may be a common enough sci-fi staple, but when was the last time you saw a scientist use a microwave to send a banana into the past?

The self-proclaimed mad scientist Rintarou Okabe rents out a room in a rickety old building in Akihabara, where he indulges himself in his hobby of inventing prospective "future gadgets" with fellow lab members. They invented a machine dubbed the "Phone Microwave" which performs the strange function of morphing bananas into piles of green gel. Though miraculous in itself, the phenomenon doesn't provide anything concrete in Okabe's search for a scientific breakthrough; that is, until the lab members are spurred into action by a string of mysterious happenings before stumbling upon an unexpected success. The Phone Microwave can send emails to the past, altering the flow of history.

When disaster is on the point of strike, Satoru finds himself sent back a few minutes before the accident happens. The disconnected, 29 years old manga artist has taken advantage of this intense yet puzzling phenomenon, which he calls "Revival" to save many people. However, he is unfairly blamed for killing someone close to him. Satoru goes back to the past once again. Also, this time he is sent to 1988, 18 years in the past.
